Time shift in Europe takes place in the last week of October in winter. However, from 2021, the country will decide whether to move the clock forward or not. According to the current European directive, countries in Europe switch to summer time on the last Sunday of March, and to winter time on the last Sunday of October. The time shift in the European Union has been regulated since 2002. Daylight saving time has already been canceled in many countries, including in Georgia since 2005. Clocks were moved forward twice a year in the beginning of the 20th century in order to save energy.
