At the age of 100, the 39th president of the USA, Jimmy Carter, died. Carter celebrated his hundredth birthday in October 2024. He was diagnosed with cancer and was in palliative care for more than a year. Carter's political career began in 1962 when he was elected as a senator from the state of Georgia.
