Today is ninoba

Today is Ninoaba. Orthodox Christians celebrate the day of St. Nino's arrival in Georgia. On the occasion of the holiday, the service is celebrated in all functioning churches. Nino, the right of the apostles, came to Georgia in about 323 through the mountains of Javakheti with a vine cross in his hand. The Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates St. Nino twice a year: on June 1, his entry into Georgia is celebrated, and on January 27(14) - his death. Today is the day of commemoration of one of the 13 Assyrian fathers, father Davit Garejeli, and Garejoba is celebrated.
