The Orthodox world celebrates Epiphany today

The Orthodox Church celebrates Epiphany on January 19. The Epiphany holiday is one of the twelve royal holidays. In connection with the holiday, services will be held in the churches. Before the end of the service, the water consecration will be performed. At the end of the service, believers will be able to take the blessed water home. According to church teaching, the blessed water is given the grace of the Jordan River blessed by the Lord and acquires incorruptible properties. Believers can take it on an empty stomach, especially during times of illness and trials.
