June 1 is International Children's Day

June 1 is International Children's Day. It was instituted by the International Democratic Federation of Women in November 1949. Since 1950 it has been celebrated in almost every country in the world today. Its purpose is to mobilize worldwide public opinion to protect children from the danger of a new war, to take care of their health and democratic education.
