Ilia II expresses sadness because of the death of the head of the Church of Albania

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II expresses sadness over the death of the head of the Church of the Albanian Church of Albania. He was ordained a bishop in 1972. In January 1991, the Patriarch of Constantinople was sent to Albania as Exarchate to restore the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania. On June 24, 1992, the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Albania was elected Archbishop of Tyrant and All Albania. From 1992 to January 25, 2025, he was the Autocephalous Archbishop of the Albanian Orthodox Church.
