32 years have passed since the fall of Sokhumi - the military confrontation began on August 14, 1992. The war in Abkhazia, which lasted for 13 months and 13 days, ended on September 27 with the fall of Sokhumi. During the entire period of fighting, the separatists were assisted by Russian military aviation, instructors and individual units of the riot police. 300,000 IDPs from Abkhazia remained homeless.
